Women Ground Eagles, 62-46

LA MIRADA, Calif. – The No. 4 Westminster women's basketball team remain perfect on the season by taking a 62-46 win over Biola University (Calif.) on Saturday evening at Chase Gymnasium.
 
Westminster (6-0) scored the first 10 points of the game, including a pair of threes from Amy Krommenhoek, and they never trailed in the win. They would get the lead to as much as 17 in a first half that saw the Griffins shoot 53.8 percent from the floor and go 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.
 
The second half opened with Westminster again using the long ball to put the game out of reach. Krommenhoek and Alli Winter each hit two triples during a 14-4 span over the first 12 minutes of the second half that gave the Griffins a 51-28 advantage. The largest lead of the night came with 5:54 to play on a Lancee Whetman layup that made it 59-33.
 
Westminster finished the evening shooting 42.9 percent while making nine threes. They grabbed 43 rebounds, including 17 on the offensive end. The Griffins had 19 assists on 24 field goals while only committing 13 turnovers. They held Biola (5-2) to 32.1 percent shooting and 29 rebounds.
 
Krommenhoek led the Griffins with 14 points behind those four triples. She also led the team with six assists while getting two rebounds and one steal. Amanda Hacking posted 12 points and 14 rebounds for her first career double-double. Winters added 11 points and five assists, making three from deep.
 
Annie Park led Biola with 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting. The Eagles were just 5-of-24 from three in the game and had seven assists and 12 turnovers.
 
The Griffins will spend next weekend in Caldwell, Idaho for a pair of games that begin against College of Idaho on Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. MT.
