MLAX Travels to Colorado for Four Games

SALT LAKE CITY – The third-ranked Westminster College men's lacrosse team returns to action this weekend as they take a four-game road trip to Colorado. Westminster begins the trip on Friday when they face Colorado at 6:30p.m. in Boulder. They then travel to Fort Collins for a Saturday match-up against Colorado State. After a few days off, the Griffins will play at Adams State (Colo.) on Feb. 26 and then open RMLC play at Western State (Colo.) on Feb. 27.

Westminster takes to the road at 2-1 in the season. They claimed wins over Cal State Fullerton and Biola (Calif.) at last weekend's Full House Faceoff. The loss came to No. 1 St. Thomas (Minn.), 11-10.

Jake Arthur and Cole Christensen led the Griffins with six goals apiece during the opening weekend. They each added one assist for seven total points. Kyle Postler led the team in points with 13 after scoring three goals and recording a team-high 10 assists. Collin Madsen had five goals and three assists for eight points with Adam Marfice also scoring five goals.

Brian Tyrrell and Poster each picked up a team-leading nine ground balls with Matt Lambourne adding eight ground balls. Lambourne went 10-of-15 in faceoffs with Jamison Amonino winning six and Richard Chen claiming five wins from the center-X.

Chris Burckle came up with 12 saves in goal while allowing six goals for a .571 save percentage. Eric Gronseth made 10 saves without allowing a goal and Ben Tourek allowed one goal with eight saves.
