BILLINGS, Mont. – The Westminster College cross country teams competed at the Yellowjacket Invitational hosted by Montana State-Billings on Saturday morning. The men ran a 6K race while the women competed in a 4K at Riverfront Park.
Oliver Lange turned in a record performance of 24:58 to finish seventh overall in the field of 95. He was second among all NAIA runners with his school-record time.
Jef Marsicola finished the course in a time of 27:19 to place 61st with
Brendan Cassidy going 29:12 for a 81st-place finish. Karsten Gilwald posted a time of 29:47 for an 87th-place result.
The Griffin women were led by
Erin Kibler and her time of 19:46. Kibler finished in 34th position in a field of 83 and was the sixth-fastest among runners from NAIA schools.
Payton Schiff was 35th after finishing the course with a time of 19:50.
Rebecca Goldstein used her time of 20:14 to place 40th and
Zoey Freebairn was 47th behind a time of 20:26.
Next up for the Griffins is the Frontier Conference Championships on Nov. 8. The race is being hosted by Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) and will take place in Lewiston, Idaho.
