BILLINGS, Mont. – The Westminster College men's and women's cross country teams each came away with a sixth-place finish at the Frontier Conference Championships over the weekend.
The Westminster men placed sixth after recording 133 points in the 8K race. The top five finishers for the Griffins ran a total time of 2:19:19. Lewis-Clark State College won the team title with 24 points and a combined time of 2:08:19. Great Falls finished second and Rocky Mountain placed third.
Oliver Lange led the Griffins with an 11th-place finish and a time of 26:09.6. Lange has an outside shot as an individual qualifier for the NAIA National Championships.
Parker Mildenhall recorded a 24th-place finish for the Griffins after running the 8K course in a time of 27:01.3.
Matt Nagie finished 29th at 28:03.6 with
Jef Marsicola finishing 33rd at 28:29.9.
Peter Chew was the final scorer for the Griffins in 36th at 29:34.8 while
Wyatt Jackson finished 40th with a time of 32:19.9
The Westminster women finished sixth after scoring 139 points. The top-five finishers for the Griffins completed the 5K course with a total time of 1:43:25. Carroll College won the team title with 33 points and a time of 1:35:58. Lewis-Clark State finished second with 44 points and Rocky Mountain placed third with 74 points.
Chelsey Fraser led the Griffin women with a 26th-place result. Fraser completed the course with a time of 20:18.1 and was two spots in front of Monique Arvisais-Anhalt who placed 28th with a time of 20:27.1.
Jana Peale finished 30th overall after running the course at 20:35.0 and was followed in 32nd by
Emmalee Barajas with a time of 20:46.6.
Cassie Mulkey earned a 36th-place finish with her time of 21:18.8.
The field for the NAIA National Championships will be announced on Monday with the race being held on Fort Vancouver, Wash. on Nov. 19.
