MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Westminster men's lacrosse team completed its spring break road trip at 3-0 after defeating No. 8 Western Oregon 7-6 on Tuesday afternoon. No. 11 Westminster held off a late rally from the home team to improve to 4-1 on the season and take a fourth consecutive victory.
The Griffins led 4-2 through three quarters before both teams erupted for multiple goals in the fourth. Western Oregon outscored Westminster 4-3 in the final 15 minutes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early attack of the Griffins.
Josh Condas led Westminster with three goals and
Andrew Gordon finished with two goals and one assist.
Jacob Wayman had three assists while
Hayden Dixon added two assists.
Dallin Hall and
Jake Arthur also scored for the Griffins.
Dallas McLellan earned his second win of the season by recording 14 saves on 20 attempts.
Westminster returns to action on March 10 when they visit Provo, Utah for a game with in-state rival Brigham Young. That game will begin at 7 p.m.
