GREAT FALLS, Mont. - Two goals allowed in both the first and second half doomed the University of Mary men's soccer team in a 4-1 loss to Westminster College. The contest was a neutral site contest for both teams.
The Griffins scored first on a goal by Cameron Wynhof in the 10th minute. An own goal increased the Westminster lead to 2-0 when a cross attempt deflected off the head of a U-Mary defender into the Marauders net in the 35th minute. Wynhof then added his second goal of the game to make the score 3-0.
Matt Binnegar buried a feed from Josh Pape to close the score to 3-1 with 24:50 left in the game but the Marauders would get no closer. WC would add another goal a few minutes later to close out the scoring.
In goal, Will Corcoran had a busy day for the Marauders. He made nine saves and faced 28 Griffin shots. The Marauders managed nine shots with five on goal.
The Marauders slip to 1-10-1 with the loss and are 0-6-3 all-time against Westminster. WC improves to 7-5-2.
