Klein is a 5-foot-5 defender from Lehi, Utah where she attended Lehi High School. She was a three-time letter winter for the Pioneers that led the team in assists as a junior and tied for the team lead in goals as a senior. In her prep career, Klein scored five goals and she was named first team all-region following her senior campaign. She was also named academic all-state and a Math Sterling Scholar.
