Westminster men's basketball has released its 2026-27 schedule, marking the debut season for first-year head coach Casey Stanley as the program looks to bounce back from a 12-16 season that ended without an RMAC Tournament berth.

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster University men's basketball team announced its 2026-27 schedule, a 31-game slate that will mark the first season under new head coach Casey Stanley. The Griffins are looking to build on last season's 12-16 finish, which fell short of an RMAC Tournament appearance.

The Griffins open the season Oct. 24 on the road at Weber State before a stretch of non-conference matchups against Montana Billings, UT Dallas, UT Tyler, Vanguard and Concordia in November. Westminster will also test itself against Division I competition on the road at UNLV (Dec. 29) and Utah State (Dec. 31).

RMAC conference play begins Jan. 7 at MSU Denver, kicking off a full run through the league slate that includes Colorado Mines, Fort Lewis, Adams State, Colorado Mesa, Western Colorado, Chadron State, South Dakota Mines, Colorado Christian, UCCS, Regis and New Mexico Highlands. Westminster closes the regular season Feb. 27 at Colorado Mesa.

"We could have made things easier on ourselves, but that wasn't the point," said Westminster head coach Casey Stanley. "We wanted to find out what this team is made of. We have three Division I opponents on the schedule, along with a lot of quality teams, and we're going to be challenged from the very beginning. That's intentional. We're building a program, and we want our guys to understand what it takes to compete at a high level. There's no better way to find that out than to play really good teams."
