Tournament Breakdown
Round 1
Westminster opened the season at The Powder Horn Golf Community's Mountain/Eagle course with a 3-over 291 as a team, built on a strong top of the lineup. Hayden Howell led the way with a 1-under 71, while Krew Labrum and Jake DeBry backed him up with matching even-par 72s. DeBry's round included the Griffins' first eagle of the season, a 3 on the par-5 7th hole (574 yards). Nic Jensen rounded out the counting score with a 76, and the group's 291 was good for a share of the early team lead.
Round 2
Moving to the Eagle/Stag course, the Griffins carded a 5-over 293 as a team. Howell was steady again with an even-par 72, and Ty Anderson chipped in a 73. Jensen and Wyatt Toney each matched with 74s to round out the counting total. Jensen provided a highlight on the par-5 3rd hole (564 yards), draining an eagle 3 — Westminster's second of the tournament.
Round 3
The Griffins closed with their best round of the week, a 1-over 289 on the Mountain/Stag course. Jensen was the story of the day, firing a 2-under 70 — the low round for Westminster all tournament — highlighted by a birdie 2 on the par-3 6th hole. Howell added his third straight sub-73 round with an even-par 72, Toney contributed a 1-over 73, and Jake DeBry rounded out the counting score with a 2-over 74.
Across all three rounds, Westminster totaled 873 strokes (291-293-289) against a par of 864, finishing at +9 for the week — good for third place out of 12 teams. Only champion Colorado Christian (even par) and runner-up Colorado Mines (+4) finished ahead of the Griffins, capping off a strong start to the 2026-27 season at the tournament hosted by South Dakota Mines in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Hayden Howell finished T4 overall with rounds of -1 (71), E (72), and E (72) for a total of -1 — the most consistent card in the Griffins' lineup. Howell ranked T6 in the field in par-5 scoring at -6 with a 4.50 average, tied for 2nd in the tournament in pars with 35, and finished T17 in birdies with 10.

Nic Jensen finished T10 overall with rounds of +4 (76), +2 (74), and -2 (70) for a total of +4. Jensen closed with the low round of the week for Westminster and tied for the tournament lead in par-5 scoring at -7 with a 4.42 average, while also ranking T12 in the field in birdies with 11 and recording one of the Griffins' two team eagles.

Wyatt Toney finished T19 overall with rounds of +5 (77), +2 (74), and +1 (73) for a total of +8. Toney ranked T5 in the tournament in birdies with 13 and T11 in par-5 scoring at -5 with a 4.58 average.

Krew Labrum finished T41 overall with rounds of E (72), +6 (78), and +8 (80) for a total of +14, highlighted by his opening-round 72 alongside Howell and DeBry.

As a team, Westminster ranked second in the 12-team field in par-5 scoring (-18, 4.75 average) and tied for second in total birdies with 56, while tying for third with two team eagles on the week.
