 Westminster volleyball dropped a four-set match to William Jewell, 1-3 (19-25, 25-15, 25-27, 14-25), in its third match of the Washburn Invitational on Saturday at Lee Arena. 

GAME BREAKDOWN

Set One
William Jewell hit .103 as a team to take the opener 25-19. Macy Bartlett led the Eagles with three kills on 10 attempts, and Alexis Frazier ran the offense with four assists. Westminster hit -.028 in the set, with Alie Coleman's four kills its top offensive mark.

Set Two
Westminster turned in its most efficient set of the match, hitting .500 as a team to win 25-15 and even the match. Apiline White went a perfect 4-for-4 without an error, Claire Cook added five kills on .500 hitting, and Jocelyn Grieser also hit without an error on three kills. Tiia Heikkinen ran the offense with 10 assists on a .625 setting percentage.

Set Three
William Jewell edged Westminster 27-25 to reclaim the match lead, 2-1. Cook and Bartlett each had seven kills to pace their teams — Cook on a .583 clip, Bartlett at .545 — as William Jewell hit .200 as a team.

Set Four
William Jewell closed out the match with a 25-14 win, hitting .455 as a team — the Eagles' most efficient set of the match — behind Frazier's efficient setting (.700 on assists) and three aces from Bartlett. Westminster hit .125 in the set, with Kyra Mahler's three kills its top mark; Cook was held without a kill on nine attempts.

The match featured 16 tie scores and nine lead changes.

GRIFFIN PERFORMANCES
Claire Cook led Westminster with 12 kills on 34 attempts (.265) to go with seven digs. 

Elsa Gilmore added 10 kills on .292 hitting, and Apiline White contributed nine kills on a .300 clip. 

Kyra Mahler hit .545 with seven kills, and Alie Coleman posted seven kills. 

Tiia Heikkinen led the setting with 27 assists, and Nora Elliot added 15. 

Ava Livolsi paced the defense with 21 digs.

As a team, Westminster hit .211 (50-22-133) with 48 assists, six aces and 45 digs.
