Westminster women's golf opened its 2026-27 season with a runner-up finish at the Travis Roy Memorial, tying Westmont for second in the 12-team field at the Powder Horn Golf Community in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Tournament Breakdown
Round 1Â
The Griffins opened with a +16 team round. Ashley Lam and Madalyn Hadley set the pace, each carding 73 to share the team lead. Lam was steady, turning in an even-par 36 on the front before a 37 on the back. Hadley took the opposite path, posting a 40 on the front before catching fire down the stretch with a 33 on the back nine — three strokes under par — to key her round. Lily Shin was right behind at 74 (37-37). Remi Rawlings (84), Kindra Hirasuna (85) and Bella Wade (86) rounded out the lineup.
Round 2Â
Westminster carded a +21 in Round 2. Lam again led the way with a 75, opening with an even-par 36 on the front before a 39 coming in. Hadley was consistent across both nines, posting matching 38s for a 76. Hirasuna tied Lam for the low front nine of the day among the Griffins at 36 before a difficult 42 on the back to finish at 78. Wade posted her best round of the week at 84. Shin's 82 was her highest score of the tournament.
Round 3Â
The Griffins closed with a +24 final round to finish the event at +61, tying Westmont for second. Colorado St-Pueblo won the team title at +59. Shin turned in the low round of the day for Westminster with a 76 (39-37). Rawlings backed that up with a 77 (39-38) — her best round of the tournament. Lam and Hadley carded 80 and 79, respectively, to close out their tied-for-fourth finish, while Hirasuna (82) and Wade (86) rounded out the scoring.
Griffin Performances
Ashley Lam and Madalyn Hadley tied for fourth individually at +12 (73-75-80 and 73-76-79, respectively) — the top finish for Westminster.
Lily Shin finished eighth at +16 (74-82-76).
Remi Rawlings placed T23 at +25 (84-80-77), improving each round to close with her best score of the week.
Kindra Hirasuna finished T30 at +29 (85-78-82).
Bella Wade rounded out the lineup at T45, +40 (86-84-86).
Team stat highlights: Westminster led the field in par-5 scoring average (5.13, +9) and total pars (167), and tied Colorado St-Pueblo for the most birdies with 33. The Griffins also tied for the field lead in par-3 scoring average (3.35, +25).
Individual standouts: Madalyn Hadley tied for the field lead in par-3 scoring average at 2.83 (-2). Ashley Lam tied Lily Shin and Westmont's Cooper Gilmore for the field lead in par-5 scoring average at 4.83 (-2), and Lam tied for second in the field in birdies with 10.
