Game Breakdown
First Quarter
Westminster struck first on a Theo Le goal at 12:54, but Northwest Nazarene quickly answered to tie it at 1-1. The Griffins regained control with back-to-back goals from Luke Sillstrop and Max Muller to make it 3-1, before Colton Altimus pulled NNU within one at 2:50. Sillstrop closed the quarter with his second goal of the frame, assisted by Theo Le, to send Westminster into the second leading 4-2.
Second Quarter
Westminster extended the lead to 6-2 on goals from Taigen Hagen — assisted by Sillstrop — and Drew Grau, assisted by Theo Le. Northwest Nazarene responded with back-to-back goals from Drew Guerrero and Hank Riddle to pull within two at 6-4. Duke DeVault answered for Westminster at 6:43, assisted by Wade Harvey, before NNU's Kellen Young made it 7-5. Kaydin Berry, assisted by Duke DeVault, closed the half with Westminster leading 8-5.
Third Quarter
The Griffins took over in the third quarter, outscoring Northwest Nazarene 7-1. Ridge Crouch opened the frame with a goal assisted by Cam Conti at 14:29, then added a man-up goal at 13:15 — just over a minute later. Hayden Hansen followed immediately at 12:56 to push the lead to 11-5, and Crouch added his third goal of the quarter at 10:47 to make it 12-5. Drew Grau then scored twice — at 7:24 and 3:46 — sandwiching a Luke Sillstrop goal assisted by Ridge Crouch to push Westminster's lead to 15-5. Colton Altimus scored the quarter's only NNU goal at 2:21 to close the period 15-6.
Fourth Quarter
Altimus gave NNU a quick fourth-quarter tally to cut the lead to 15-7, but Westminster answered with five unanswered goals to close the game. Daxton Jensen got things going at 10:04, followed by Sillstrop's man-up goal at 5:50 assisted by Ridge Crouch. Duke DeVault added a goal at 3:48, and Sillstrop and Jensen closed things out in the final two minutes to seal the 20-7 win.
