Westminster dropped to 3-2 on the season Thursday, falling to Rockhurst 14-12 at Bourke Field in Kansas City, Mo.
Game Breakdown
First Quarter
The Griffins came out hot, racing to a 7-1 lead behind goals from Duke DeVault (2), Pierce Dahl, Drew Grau, Jake Bloom, Ridge Crouch, and Cam Conti. Rockhurst closed the quarter with a goal to trail 7-2.
Second Quarter
Rockhurst completely flipped the script, outscoring Westminster 7-2 to tie the game at 9-9 at halftime. Luke Sillstrop and Xavier Monteiro scored for the Griffins, but it wasn't enough to hold the lead.
Third Quarter
Westminster regained control, outscoring Rockhurst 3-2 to take a 12-11 lead into the fourth. DeVault, Tate Craig (man-up), and Boden Laforce provided the scoring.
Fourth Quarter
Westminster was held scoreless as Rockhurst scored three unanswered to close out the 14-12 victory.
