Vognild Earns First-Team All-American as Three Griffins Compete at NCAA Skiing Championships

PARK CITY, Utah — Westminster's alpine skiers competed across two days of racing at the 73rd Annual NCAA Skiing Championships at Utah Olympic Park, highlighted by Guro Hestad Vognild's First-Team All-American performance in the Women's Giant Slalom on Wednesday.

Giant Slalom — Wednesday, March 11

Women's Giant Slalom

Vognild delivered one of the standout runs of the day, posting a first run of 1:04.77 — fifth-fastest in the field — before closing with a 1:01.32 second run for a combined time of 2:06.09. Her 4th-place finish earned First-Team All-American honors and 31 points for Westminster.

Men's Giant Slalom

Benjamin Angerer finished 18th with a combined time of 1:57.47, posting a first run of 59.69 before recording the sixth-fastest second run in the field at 57.78. Alejandro Puente Tasias did not finish the second run after posting a first run of 58.96.

Slalom — Friday, March 13

Women's Slalom

Vognild returned to the course and finished 12th with a combined time of 1:37.46 (R1: 47.71, R2: 49.75), earning 19 more points for the Griffins.

Men's Slalom

Puente Tasias bounced back with a 25th-place finish, combining a first run of 54.67 with the third-fastest second run in the field — a 43.81 — for a combined time of 1:38.48 and 6 points. Angerer did not finish the first run.
