GEORGETOWN, Colo. – The Westminster alpine ski teams continued the 2026 season at the Colorado Invitational, hosted by the University of Colorado, competing in slalom and giant slalom races at Loveland Ski Area and Aspen Highlands. Westminster scored points in both men's and women's events across the two-day alpine slate, adding to its early-season RMISA totals.
Meet Breakdown
Men's Slalom
Westminster recorded 40 team points in the men's slalom at Loveland Ski Area. Alejandro Puente Tasias led the Griffins with a 12th-place finish (1:26.83), earning 21 points. Roman Frost followed in 25th place (1:27.81) for 11 points, while Benjamin Angerer added 8 points with a 34th-place finish (1:29.75). Westminster finished seventh as a team in the event.
Women's Slalom
The Westminster women totaled 27 team points in slalom competition. Guro Hestad Vognild paced the team with a 20th-place finish (1:33.22), scoring 16 points, while Sarah Zoller added 11 points in 31st place (1:37.26). Westminster placed seventh in the women's slalom team standings.
Men's Giant Slalom
In giant slalom at Aspen Highlands, Westminster recorded 24 team points, finishing eighth in the men's event. Trent Pennington led the way with a 22nd-place finish (2:01.41), earning 13 points, while Alejandro Puente Tasias followed in 30th place (2:03.57) for 11 points.
Women's Giant Slalom
The Westminster women earned 45 team points in giant slalom, finishing sixth in the event. Guro Hestad Vognild posted a sixth-place finish (2:02.83) to score 28 points, while Sarah Zoller added 17 points with a 17th-place finish (2:04.41).
Big Picture
Through four alpine events at the Colorado Invitational, Westminster totaled 136 alpine points, finishing seventh overall in the team standings. The women contributed 72 points, while the men added 64 points, continuing to build momentum as the RMISA season progresses.
