Westminster Builds Momentum at Roman Ruiz Meet Ahead of Trip to MSU

2/1/2026 2:37:00 PM

Logan, UT - The Westminster men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Roman Ruiz Speed and Power Meet hosted by Utah State University in Logan, Utah, facing a strong field that included multiple NCAA Division I programs. The meet served as an important early-season benchmark, allowing Westminster athletes to measure their progress against high-level competition in an indoor setting. Several Griffins recorded notable finishes while continuing to build toward the championship portion of the season.

On the men's side, freshman Jack Mulliner produced the top result for Westminster by winning the triple jump with a mark of 11.68 meters (38'4"), earning a first-place finish in the event. In the middle distances, freshman Colin Morganled the Griffins in the 600 meters, placing fifth overall with a time of 1:26.28 in a competitive field that featured multiple close finishes. The men also showed promise in the sprints, highlighted by Jeremy Alba's 7.01 performance in the 60 meters semifinals.

The women were led by strong performances from Mia McKay and Kanoe Haneberg. McKay placed third overall in the pentathlon with 3,063 points, demonstrating consistency across all five events. Haneberg followed with a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.60 meters (5'3"), while contributing additional points in the hurdles and horizontal jumps. Westminster will look to carry this momentum into next weekend as the Griffins travel to Bozeman, Montana, to compete at the Carignan Classic hosted by Montana State University.
