Westminster men's basketball pushed Fort Lewis to overtime on Saturday afternoon but came up short in an 87–77 loss at Whalen Gymnasium. The Griffins erased a double-digit second-half deficit to force overtime before the Skyhawks pulled away in the extra period.
Fort Lewis held a 36–26 halftime lead, but Westminster responded with a strong second half, outscoring the Skyhawks 46–36 to send the game into overtime tied 72–72. Fort Lewis then outscored the Griffins 15–5 in OT to secure the win.
Cole Kadoguchi led Westminster with 20 points, shooting 5–12 from the field, 5–10 from three, and a perfect 5–5 at the free-throw line. Jack Jamele added 19 points on 7–12 shooting, including 4–7 from beyond the arc, while Boston Painter contributed 10 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
Jake Nadauld finished with 9 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds, and Jonah El-Farra posted a team-high 12 rebounds. Westminster totaled 49 rebounds, 16 assists, and 36 bench points, while shooting 39.4% from three.
Fort Lewis was paced by Stewart Erhart's 27 points and Jaxon Smith's 25, as the Skyhawks converted 22–37 at the free-throw line and scored 26 points off turnovers.
With the loss, Westminster moves to 6–8 overall and 1–5 in RMAC play as conference action continues.
