Griffins Get Much-Needed Road WIn @WWU

Bellingham, WA - The Westminster Griffins concluded their 6-game start of the season road stand with a much-needed win at Harrington Field on the campus of Western Washington University with a 1-0 result. The lone goal came as a result of Alejandro Puente's combination of being in the right place at the right time and capitalizing on it. The Griffins' defense had a stellar performance with redshirt freshman goalkeeper Oliver Olsen earning his first-ever win and shutout at the collegiate level. Defenders Chase Kluksdal and Kelii Killehua turned in another great performance, holding the opponent to one goal or less for the third straight game and fifth overall.

The Griffins open up a brief home campaign this upcoming Thursday, September 25th, at Dumke Field against Colorado Christian University. They end the weekend against Colorado School of Mines on Sunday, September 28th, as the last two games before the conference starts. You can follow all of the Westminster Griffins MSOC updates on social media or at Westminstergriffins.com/msoc.

As always, Go Griffins!
