SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster men's soccer earned a 2-1 victory over Colorado Christian University on Thursday night at Dumke Field, moving to 3-3-0 on the season.
The Griffins wasted no time getting on the board, as Jack Cardwell found the back of the net in the 3rd minute off assists from Ashton Duran and Cam Neeley. Westminster doubled its lead early in the second half when Owen Gallo scored in the 53rd minute, assisted by Cardwell.
Colorado Christian pulled one back in the 60th minute on a penalty kick converted by Salvador Fernandes, but the Griffins held strong the rest of the way to secure the win.
Westminster finished with an 11-6 edge in shots, including 3 on goal, while also earning 12 corner kicks to CCU's 3.
