Griffins Open Season at Wolverine Invitational
OREM, Utah – The Westminster University's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams opened their 2025 season by tackling the Wolverine Invitational on Friday morning, battling an extremely competitive field of NCAA Division I and top junior college programs.

Junior Liam Thompson led the Griffins with a 56th-place finish in 16:06.20 in the 3 mile. Close behind, freshman Jacob Fornander earned 68th at 16:20.04, and junior Elliot Vargas placed 74th with 16:30.08.

Sophomore Eileen O'Connor set the tone for the Griffins with a 48th-place finish in 19:28.81. Freshman Ashley Cottino followed at 50th with 19:33.35, while freshman Sonya Brunner crossed 59th in 20:05.00.
