Grand Junction, CO – The Westminster Griffins men's and women's track and field teams continued their outdoor season with a strong showing at the Maverick Invite, hosted by Colorado Mesa University. The Griffins delivered a string of standout performances, setting numerous program top-10 marks and even rewriting a school record.
On the women's side, it was a record-breaking day for sophomore Lily Crofts, who leapt 5.36m (17' 7") in the long jump to secure third place overall and set a new school record. Crofts also clocked a 15.86 in the 100m hurdles to tie the fifth-fastest time in program history, while teammate Mia McKay added a 16.61 to crack the top 10 as well.
McKay had a packed weekend, setting four additional top-10 marks across multiple events. She placed 7th in the 400m hurdles (1:07.75), now second all-time at Westminster, while also logging strong marks in the long jump, high jump, and shot put. In total, McKay finished in the top 10 in three events.
In the throws, Kamylle Tosie-Nez placed 10th in the discus (35.57m / 116' 8"), earning the 5th-best mark in school history. She also shined in the shot put with a 12.17m (39' 11.25") effort—good for 3rd all-time at Westminster.
Angela Martin-Ruben ran the 7th-fastest 800m time in program history (2:24.01) to place 9th, while Bianca Greco, Haven Finley, and Jocelyn Olsen also posted solid finishes in the middle distances.
In the sprints, the women's 4x100m relay team of Martin-Ruben, Finley, Crofts, and Rylee Cudney clocked a 52.63—earning the 8th-fastest mark in school history.
For the men, Brock Lloyd stood out in both the 110m hurdles and the high jump, taking 5th in the hurdles (15.75) and 2nd in the high jump (1.78m / 5'10"). Lloyd also placed 10th in the javelin with a mark of 32.81m (107' 8").
Distance runner Mack Taylor placed 28th in the 5000m (16:47.97), while Elliot Vargas and Nicc Winegar both broke the 2:01 barrier in the 800m to place inside the top 25.
Sebastian Moon added a 7th-place finish in the 400m hurdles (58.97), earning the fifth-fastest time in program history.
