Griffins Defeat Grizzlies In Road Victory

Alamosa, Colo. — The Westminster Griffins men's lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday afternoon, earning an 18-5 conference win over Adams State at Rex Stadium.

The Griffins set the tone early, scoring three goals in the opening two minutes and building a 7-2 lead by the end of the first quarter. Sean Gragnola sparked the attack with four goals and an assist, while Luke Sillstrop, Camden Stanley, and Jacob Mendez each added two goals apiece.

Westminster's offense continued to apply pressure throughout the second quarter, extending the lead to 14-4 by halftime. Eight different Griffins found the back of the net, showcasing the team's depth and balance.

In goal, Westminster rotated three players. Cade Conahey earned the win, making four saves in the first half. Charley Mehney and Mason Fray combined to close out the final two quarters, with Fray tallying a save in the second half.

Westminster finished with 18 goals on 13 assists and allowed just five goals on the day, marking one of their most complete performances of the season.

The Griffins (record) now prepare for their regular-season finale on Saturday, April 19, when they travel to Grand Junction to take on Colorado Mesa University at Community Hospital Unity Field. Faceoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
