Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Griffins Celebrate Seniors, Battle Hard in Home Finale vs. Concordia

Salt Lake City, UT – The Westminster men's lacrosse team honored its seniors in a heartfelt pregame ceremony on Dumke Field Saturday afternoon, recognizing the contributions of six players before taking on Concordia University Irvine in their final home game of the season. Despite a strong start, the Griffins fell to the Golden Eagles, 14-8.

Prior to faceoff, the program celebrated Zennon LaForce, Kade Oswin, Donovan Fox, Andrew Duxbury, Jack Fairbanks, Sean Gragnola, and Roman Nalder for their leadership, dedication, and impact on and off the field.

Westminster came out strong in the first quarter, taking a 4-1 lead behind goals from Sean Gragnola, Pierce Dahl, Camden Rossi, and Camden Stanley. Gragnola was active early, scoring once and assisting on Stanley's goal during a man-up opportunity.

Concordia responded with a flurry of offense in the second quarter, outscoring the Griffins 5-1 to take an 8-5 lead into halftime. Duke DeVault added a goal for Westminster in the frame, converting another man-up chance off a feed from Ridge Crouch.

In the second half, Camden Rossi netted his second goal, and Gragnola tallied his second as well, again during a man-up sequence. Cale Gunter scored Westminster's final goal of the afternoon in the fourth quarter, but the Griffins couldn't overcome the Golden Eagles' balanced scoring attack led by Max Texter, who finished with four goals.

Christian Jones stood tall between the pipes, playing the full 60 minutes in goal and recording 12 saves for Westminster.
