Romeoville, IL – The Westminster men's lacrosse team pushed No. 11 Lewis University to the brink on Saturday afternoon, but a late goal from the Flyers proved to be the difference as the Griffins fell 13-12 in a back-and-forth contest.
Westminster led early after Camden Stanley and Jacob Mendez found the net in the opening quarter, but Lewis responded with three straight goals to take the lead. From there, neither team led by more than two, with the Griffins tying the game at 12-12 with 7:12 remaining on a goal by Ridge Crouch, assisted by Luke Sillstrop.
Lewis, however, capitalized on an opportunity four minutes later, as Xan Hayes netted the game-winner off a pass from Malikye Good to seal the Flyers' victory.

- Goalkeeper Christain Jones was stellar in net, tallying 19 saves.
