Logan, UT — The Westminster Men's and Women's Track and Field teams showcased strong performances at the Roman Ruiz Speed and Power event hosted by Utah State University this past weekend. Both teams set multiple new records and demonstrated their competitive spirit across a variety of events.
Men's Highlights:

60m Dash: Zac Levin clocked 7.16 seconds, securing 18th place and setting a new 4th place record for Westminster. Sebastian Moon (7.56, 24th), Nicc Winegar (8.01, 25th), and James Haynes (8.36, 26th) followed with solid efforts.

600m: Nicc Winegar earned 3rd place with a time of 1:26.17, establishing a new 2nd place record. Sebastian Moon (1:32.21, 4th) and Diego Escalante (1:32.78, 5th) also set new records.

800m: Sebastian Szweda Mittelstadt led with a time of 1:59.84, placing 9th, followed by Diego Escalante at 2:07.74 (24th).

1 Mile: Mittelstadt finished 22nd with a time of 4:27.37, while Elliot Vargas crossed at 4:58.58 (61st).

5000m: Mack Taylor (16:20.27, 11th) and James Stock (18:16.00, 17th) put forth strong endurance performances.

60m Hurdles: Brock Lloyd secured 13th place with a time of 8.95 seconds.

Field Events: James Haynes threw 5.59m (17th) in the shot put, while Brock Lloyd excelled in the high jump (1.79m, 6th) and long jump (5.45m, 10th).
Women's Highlights:

60m Dash: Alivia Preston clocked 8.06 seconds, finishing 14th. Angela Martian-Ruben (8.39, 25th), Lily Crofts (8.77, 26th), and Rylee Cudney (8.93, 27th) rounded out the team.

600m: Mia McKay led with a 4th place finish at 1:46.35, setting a new 2nd place record. Haven Finley (1:56.68, 5th) and Jocelyn Olsen (1:57.76, 6th) followed with record-setting performances.

800m: Martian-Ruben set a new 8th place record with 2:25.73 (14th place). Finley, Olsen, and Bianca Greco (26th) showed strong efforts.

60m Hurdles: Mia McKay posted a time of 9.99 seconds, finishing 26th.

Field Events: Kamylle Tsosie-Nez threw 11.35m in the shot put (13th), with Kate Garrett placing 20th. In high jump, McKay cleared 1.30m (13th), while Alexis Monson, McKay, and Cudney competed in the long jump.
Both teams displayed exceptional talent and growth, setting the stage for continued success in the upcoming events.
