Winter Park, FL – The Westminster Griffins kicked off their 2025 men's lacrosse season against a tough No. 7 Rollins College team on Friday night. Despite an early goal from Luke Sillstrop, the Griffins were unable to slow down the Tars' offensive attack, ultimately falling 19-12 in Florida.
- First Quarter: Westminster struck first with Sillstrop's goal, assisted by Roman Nalder at the 10:48 mark. However, Rollins responded quickly, scoring five unanswered goals to take control. Camden Stanley added another goal late, but Westminster trailed 6-2 after one.
- Second Quarter: The Griffins found some momentum, including a man-up goal from Jacob Mendez and a late goal from Sean Gragnola to cut the deficit to 8-5. However, Rollins answered just before the half to extend their lead to 9-5.
- Third Quarter: Daxton Jensen and Cam Conti found the back of the net, but Rollins kept up the pressure, scoring four goals in the quarter to stay ahead 14-8.
- Fourth Quarter: Westminster fought until the final whistle, scoring four goals in the final 10 minutes, including another man-up goal by Harrison Edwards. However, Rollins' offense continued to produce, sealing the 19-12 victory.
