Pueblo, CO - The Westminster men's soccer team traveled to Pueblo, Colorado to open RMAC play against nationally ranked opposition on Thursday night, battling to a 1–1 draw with No. 17 CSU Pueblo on the road. The ThunderWolves opened the scoring in the 6th minute through So Nagano, but the Griffins wasted little time responding. In the 13th minute, Cameron Neeley buried a strike to level the score, seizing on an early opportunity and swinging momentum back to the visitors.
From that point forward, Westminster grew stronger as the game wore on, especially in the second half, where the Griffins dictated much of the play and consistently pressed for a winner. Despite generating quality opportunities, they couldn't break through the Pueblo defense for a decisive second goal. Goalkeeper Tommy Manwaring delivered another standout performance, recording five saves and coming up big in key moments to keep Westminster even. The match was statistically balanced, with both sides tallying six shots on goal, though Westminster's second-half dominance highlighted the team's ability to control games against great opponents.
The result pushes Westminster's unbeaten streak to four matches, moving the Griffins to 4-4-1 on the season. They now turn their attention to Colorado Springs, where they'll face UCCS on Sunday at 11 a.m. MST, looking to build on their strong form during a demanding stretch of the schedule and the start of RMAC play.
