Griffins Shut Out Colorado School of Mines 2–0 on the Road

GOLDEN, Colo. – Westminster men's soccer picked up its second straight RMAC victory Thursday night with a 2–0 win over Colorado School of Mines at Stermole Soccer Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Griffins (6-4-2, 2-1-2 RMAC) broke through in the 48th minute when James Miles scored his first goal of the season, finishing a sequence assisted by Alejandro Puente and Cam Neeley. Neeley added a goal of his own in the 60th minute, flicking in a heel touch from a throw-in assisted by Puente to make it 2–0.

Westminster outshot Mines (2-5-4, 1-3-0 RMAC) 15–5 overall and 6–2 in shots on goal while earning an 11–4 edge in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Oliver Olsen made two saves to secure the shutout — the team's second in the last three matches.

The Griffins were issued two yellow cards in the match, while Mines received one.

Westminster will continue RMAC play at home next Friday against South Dakota Mines.
