Griffins Battle No. 9 Fort Lewis to 3–3 Draw

SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster men's soccer matched the nation's No. 9-ranked team goal for goal on Friday night, earning a 3–3 draw against Fort Lewis in an action-packed RMAC contest at Dumke Field.

Fort Lewis (4-1-4, 0-0-2 RMAC) opened the scoring just eight minutes in before Kolson Helquist equalized for Westminster (4-4-2, 0-1-2 RMAC) in the 11th minute on a setup from Owen Gallo. The Skyhawks briefly regained the lead in the 18th minute, but the Griffins again responded when Christian Kercher scored off a feed from Gallo and Jack Miguel Epstein to make it 2–2 in the 32nd.

Just two minutes later, Westminster took its first lead of the night as Jack Miguel Epstein found the back of the net, assisted by Jack Cardwell, giving the Griffins a 3–2 advantage heading into halftime.

Fort Lewis converted the final equalizer in the 90th minute to secure the draw. Westminster outshot the Skyhawks 15–10 overall and 6–5 in shots on goal, while also holding an10–4 edge in corner kicks.

The Griffins continue RMAC play Sunday when they host Adams State at Dumke Field.
