SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster men's soccer earned its first RMAC win of the season in dominant fashion, defeating Adams State 4–0 on Sunday afternoon at Dumke Field.
The Griffins (5-4-2, 1-1-2 RMAC) wasted no time getting on the board as Owen Gallo scored in the 5th minute off an assist from Alejandro Puente. Jack Cardwell doubled the lead in the 12th minute, finishing a setup from James Miles. Puente added a goal of his own in the 25th minute, assisted by Kolson Helquist and Broc Underhill, giving Westminster a 3–0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Griffins capped the scoring in the 84th minute when Ben Kump netted his first goal of the season, assisted by Ashton Duran and Matt Donovan.
Westminster controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Adams State 16–1 overall and 5–0 in shots on goal. The Griffins also earned a 4–0 edge in corner kicks while limiting the Grizzlies to a single shot attempt.
Goalkeeper Oliver Olsen picked up the shutout without needing to make a save, while Adams State's Joshua Kropf recorded one save in the match.
Adams State's Jadon Fambro received the lone caution of the game in the 45th minute.
Westminster will return to the road next week at Colorado School of Mines to continue RMAC play.
