South Jordan, UT – The Westminster Griffins Women's Golf team hosted the Westminster Wasatch Invitational over the past two days at Glenmoor Golf Course, where they competed against seven other schools. Biola University claimed the top score to win the event, while the Griffins fought hard to finish tied for third.
"It is always such a privilege to host a tournament at Glenmoor and watch some of our region's best Division II teams compete. My goal is always to showcase Utah and provide a memorable experience," said Denise Larson Head Coach and Director of Golf. "This year marks the fourth year we've hosted this tournament and our third-place tie finish is our best to date. I saw a lot of good things out of my team and they continue to show me we are capable of great golf!"
Ashley Lam led the way for the Griffins, securing a top-five finish on the individual leaderboard with an impressive score of +6 and Kyra Sponenburgh finished +10. Teammates Madalyn Hadley, Reimi Bleyl, Isabel Wade, and Kindra Hirsauna all placed within the top 40, contributing to the team's climb up the leaderboard. Jailee Snow also made her mark, finishing 49th, as each player helped Westminster achieve a strong overall performance.
