Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster Griffins Men's Lacrosse team showcased their offensive firepower as they faced an early challenge as they trailing early and found a way to comeback to secure a the 19-7 victory over Dominican University of California.
The game began with Westminster facing an early 4-0 deficit, but the Griffins quickly found their footing and rallied back to take control of the contest. The Griffins surged ahead, outscoring their opponents with a flurry of goals to end the first half with a commanding lead.
Leading the charge for Westminster was Merritt McMahon, where he notch an impressive six goals along with an assist. Joseph Celentano and Jacob Mendez also delivered standout performances, contributing three goals each to the team's offensive onslaught. Nathan Kaufma added two goals to the scoreboard, while Thiago Achcar-Winkels, Jacob Pickett, Cale Gunter, Camden Rossi, and Boden each chipped in with a goal of their own, further solidifying the Griffins' dominance.
The victory marked the second meeting between the two teams this season, with Westminster emerging victorious once again following their earlier win on Feb. 24. With the win, the Griffins maintained their perfect record at home, improving to 2-0 for the year.
Christain Jones was the goalkeeper in the cage for the Griffins stopping six key shots that he faced in the net.
