Melbourne, FL - The Westminster Women's Lacrosse team concluded their challenging Florida road trip with a tough matchup against a top-ranked opponent on Tuesday night, ultimately falling 19-1.
The Griffins found themselves trailing early in the game, with Florida Tech taking an early 2-0 lead. Annabelle Kugler managed to find the back of the net to bring the Griffins within one, but that would be the only goal for Westminster in the game. Florida Tech then went on an impressive 13-0 run to close out the first half.
Westminster knew going to Florida would be tough and playing their third game in four nights would be a challenge, the Griffins recognize the importance of facing tough competition early in the season to prepare for conference play. With valuable lessons learned from their time in Florida, the team is now ready to regroup and focus on their upcoming Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) matchups.
Next up, the Griffins will continue their road trip as they head to Colorado for their next set of games. They will first take on Colorado State University Pueblo on Friday night, followed by a matchup with Fort Lewis College on Sunday afternoon. These games will mark the conclusion of their challenging road trip before returning home to Westminster University.
