Pueblo, CO – The Westminster Griffins Women's Lacrosse team secured their first conference win of the 2024 season with a dominant performance against CSU-Pueblo in RMAC action. After a close first quarter where the Griffins led 3-2, they exploded in the second quarter, scoring six goals to extend their lead. The final score was 14-3 in favor of Westminster.
Leading the scoring for Westminster was
Jordan Williamson with three goals.
Olivia Petrosky,
Shaina Shoughro, Adison Bendor, and Maddie Kellenher each contributed two goals, while
Annabelle Kugler,
Ellie Berg, and
Celia Fidanza added one goal apiece.
The Griffins displayed strong offensive prowess, outshooting CSU-Pueblo 35-18 and registering 17 more shots on goal. Defensively, they caused 30 turnovers, showcasing their dominance on both ends of the field.
Gabriella Cheminant played a stellar game in goal, making nine saves to help secure the victory for Westminster.
