LAKELAND, Fla. – It was the second game in Florida for the Westminster Men's Lacrosse team as they fell to the No. 16 Florida Southern College by a final score of 14-9 on Sunday afternoon at Berend Field.
The Griffins had the early lead twice to begin the game, (2-0. 6-5) before the Florida Southern College took control and outscored the Griffins 8-3 in the final three periods of play.
Merritt McMahon led the way with four goals in the loss and added one assist and
Joseph Celentano had two other goals.
Skyler Weathers was one of three players who had one goal, but led the team with two assists on the day, Luke Stilstrop and Ryan Kuptz were the other two scorers.
For Florida Southern College, it was a historic day for their head coach who captured his 100
th career victory in his head coaching tenure with the Moccasins.
UP NEXT: The Griffins will look to snap their three-game losing skid as they will head to Colorado Mesa on April 1st for their second conference game of the year.
