Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster men's basketball team had their sights on another key conference home win on Friday night when the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs hit the court, as a back-and-forth game continued until late in the second half when the Griffins held on to a 92-80 victory for their third straight win at home.
It was a good night to be a Griffin on the offensive end tonight, as four different players hit double-digits on the stat sheet,
Taylor Miller had a few fast break layups which total 21 points. six rebounds and dished out six assists in the win.
Trey Farrer did his job tonight as he got a big block in the game and had himself a night in the post scoring 17 points with a few hook shots down low,
Jeremy Dowdell was lighting it up from downtown and he didn't miss a three-point shot on the night going 5-5 and only missing one shot total with 17 points,
Donaval Avila ended the night with 11 points with a slam dunk late in the second half which sparked the team to finish strong.
Westminster ended the night shooting 54 percent from the field and 53 percent from beyond the three-point line and ended the night 71 percent from the free throw line.
The Mountain Lions saw a big night behind Jon'il Fugett who ended the night with 33 points in defeat for UCCS.
