Rapid City, SD - With 29 seconds left to play in the second half
Trey Farrer put the Griffins on top late in the game with a jumper, but it was the final time the Westminster Griffins would have the lead as the Hardrockers rattled off the next four points to capture the home win in conference play 71-68.
It was a tale of two different halves of basketball inside the King Center, South Dakota for both teams. The Griffins came out and played a great first half of basketball as they took the early advantage in the game leading 31-23 at halftime as the Hardrockers were fazed by the defensive pressure of Westminster as they shot 9-31 from the field.
In the second half the Hardrockers found a way to fight through the pesky Griffins defense as they knocked down 7 three-point shots and made a total of 17 shots and made their free-throws count with seven at the line.
Farrer ended the night as the top scorer for the Griffins as he scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the double-double.
