Pueblo, CO – The Westminster Griffins were playing their final game on the road for the 2022 season, they were looking to come back to Salt Lake City, but despite six goals by
Lauren Shoughro and another five by
Eden Freiberg the ThunderWolves of
Colorado State University Pueblo spoiled those plans as they evened the season series at 1-1 as the Griffins fell to the ThunderWolves 19-15
Westminster may of started down 1-0 to begin the game, but things quickly changed for the Griffins as they were able to score four goals in the first 15 minutes of play to take the early lead. In the 2nd CSU was able to even the score up at 5, but never took the lead as the Griffins added three more goals in the first half and had the lead as the teams exited the field and discussed their first half of play.
After the first half came to an end, the Griffins held a 7-5 lead after 30 minute of play, but after the first face-off as the second half began it was all ThunderWolves as they came out of the lockeroom with intensity as they rattled off eight straight goals as they held the Griffins to two goals by Freiberg and Shoughro in the third as they took the lead 13-9.
Entering the final 15 minutes of play in their final road game of the regular season, Westminster was able to close the gap to a one goal game late in the 4th, but that was as close as they Griffins would as Westminster fought and battled back into the game, but it wasn't enough as they took the conference loss on the road.

Regis University into Dumke Field on Thursday night under the lights as the nationally ranked Rangers take on Westminster as it will be the first of the final two games of the regular season at home with face-off scheduled for 7:00 P.M. MDT.
