Andoni Odencrantz who Assist by
Merritt McMahon; made the biggest play of the game for the Westminster Griffins as that goal and assist sent the game to overtime as
Joseph Celentano sealed the victory with the lone goal in extra minutes as Westminster (5-2) capture their fourth straight win in a row defeating
Belmont Abbey College 13-12.
Easton Albert, led the team with a total of seven ground balls and added two goals as
Gabe Mein led the team with three goals in the win.
The Griffins fell behind early in the game trailing 3-0 and trailed 5-1 early in the second period of action.
But have no fear the Griffins stormed back quickly, scoring eight of the nine next goals and took the lead. Belmont Abbey College, had an answer of their own as both teams took the lead from one another until Westminster tied the game up in the final minute of play as the teams played some extra minutes.
McMahon added two goals on the evening and
Zennon LaForce,
Jacob Pickett and
Spencer Whinery added one goal each to their game totals.
Westminster will continue the road trip weekend as they will travel to take on
University of Mount Olive on Sunday.
