Women's Basketball Close Out Home Schedule: Griffins to Honor Senior Class and Jarrard Saturday Night

Westminster women's basketball sits in fifth place with two weeks remaining in the RMAC season.

SALT LAKE CITY - Riding the momentum of an early-week home win, Westminster women's basketball (14-7, 13-4 RMAC) will look to improve its postseason seeding in its final two home games of the season with matchups against 13th-ranked Colorado School of Mines (21-3, 16-2 RMAC) on Friday and Regis (11-13, 7-11 RMAC) on Saturday, both games tipping-off at 5 p.m.

Game Info:
- Both of this weekend's women's basketball games will be hosted at the Behnken Field House. General admission into all games is $8.
- The Westminster women's basketball program will honor its senior Class of 2022 prior to Saturday's home finale against Regis.  Additionally, former head coach Shelley Jarrard will be recognized for her 200 career wins milestone at Saturday's game vs. Regis.

-  Westminster has won three of its last four after a 66-54 win over MSU Denver on Tuesday night and is now 6-2 at home in Behnken Field House.
-  The Griffins, who rank fifth in the RMAC with just 61.2 ppg allowed to opponents, held MSU Denver to just 21-of-59 shooting (36 percent) and led the entire second half and by as many as 17 in the fourth quarter.
- Hunter Krebs has scored double digits in five of the last six games including 15 pts on 5-of-7 shooting in Tuesday night's win.
- Abby Mangum had four steals and one block on the defensive end against MSU Denver and added 14 points while going 2-of-3 from behind the arc.
- Sarah McGinley has led the Griffins in scoring seven times this season and has hit double digits in all but two contests.  Against CSU Pueblo last Friday, McGinley knocked down a go-ahead three with less than one second to play in overtime, giving Westminster its first OT win of the season.
- Westminster has the fourth-highest field goal percentage (.473) in all of Division II
- The Griffins lead the RMAC and own the 10th-best 3pt field goal percentage (.370) in the nation heading into he weekend.

About the Orediggers (21-3, 16-2 RMAC):
- 13th-ranked Colorado School of Mines has played five of its last seven on the road and are 5-2 during that stretch.
- The Orediggers went 2-0 at home last weekend with double-digit wins over Fort Lewis and Western Colorado on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
- Denali Pinto tied the program's single-game scoring record with 38 points while breaking the record for made three-pointers (10) in a game in last Friday's win over Fort Lewis.
- No. 13 Colorado School of Mines has won four in a row overall and rank first in the RMAC in ppg (73.4), opp ppg (54.4), assists per game (16.7), and turnover margin (+11.0.).
- Back on Jan. 26, then fifth-ranked Mines held N.M. Highlands to zero points in the fourth quarter and a season-low 29 points in the game.
- Denali Pinto leads the Orediggers in scoring aat 14.3 ppg and Sammy Van Sickle is the team's leading rebounder with 7.1 rpg to go along with 26 blocks and 57 steals on the defensive end.

About the Rangers (11-13, 7-11 RMAC):
- Regis snapped an eight-game losing skid last week and went 2-0 at home with wins over Western Colorado and Fort Lewis.
- The Rangers have dropped four straight road contests and are 4-6 on the road this season.
- Josey Ryan leads the Rangers in scoring with 12.6 ppg and Athena Saragoza is second with 10.0 ppg.
- Morgan Smith finished last week's win over Fort Lewis with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting and is the team's leading rebounder at 6.0 rpg.
- The Rangers finished a season-best 58 percent (28-of-48) from the floor against Fort Lewis on Saturday.

Senior Day Class of 2022:
- Following the conclusion of Saturday's home finale, Westminster women's basketball will honor the following seniors for the class of 2022:
- #3   Abby Mangum - G
- HOMETOWN/HIGH SCHOOL: Eagle, Idaho - Eagle High School
- Transferred to Westminster after beginning her collegiate career at BYU.
- Has played in 71 career games for Westminster with 47 starts over the past two seasons and was named honorable mention All-RMAC and First Team RMAC All-Academic in 2020-21.
- Started all 19 games on the Griffins run to the NCAA Regional Final last season and has averaged 11.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 3.3 apg with 38 steals and 24 blocks as a senior.
- The youngest of five children, Abby is the daughter of Michael Karen Mangum and will graduate with a degree in communication from Westminster.
- #23   Sarah McGinley - F
- HOMETOWN/HIGH SCHOOL: Fort Collins, Colo. - Heritage Christian Academy
- Transferred to Westminster in 2019 after beginning her collegiate career at Colorado Christian.
- She is a three-time all-conference honoree including first team honors in 2020-21.  Was also named to the 2019-20 RMAC All-Tournament Team and the 2020-21 NCAA South Central Region All-Tournament Team.
- Has averaged 12.9 ppg and 5.3 rpg in 126 collegiate games with 117 starts.  In 68 starts for the Griffins, she has averaged 13.8 ppg while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three.
- Her parents are Kevin and Cindy McGinley and she will graduate from Westminster with a degree in sociology.
- #42   Hunter Krebs - F
- HOMETOWN/HIGH SCHOOL: Hyde Park, Utah. - Sky View High School
- Committed to Westminster in October of 2016 while attending Sky View HS.  Was named Second  Team All-RMAC after averaging 13.9 ppg in 25 starts as a true freshman in 2017-18.
- Has since been named First-Team All-RMAC each of the past three seasons and has averaged 13.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg and has 152 career blocks.
- She has played in 121 career games for Westminster with 118 starts.
- Daughter of Bret and Rebekah Krebs, she will graduate from Westminster with a degree in finance & economics.

Westminster will make its final push at a home playoff game from the road next week as it closes out the regular season at Fort Lewis on Thurs., Feb. 24 and at Western Colorado on Sat., Feb. 26.
