Salt Lake City, UT - Taylor Miller played 33 minutes and scored 22 points to lead the Griffins in scoring as it was Colorado School of Mines who captured the six-point victory on Saturday night 79-73. 

The Westminster Griffins started out with some great energy and shocked the Orediggers as the Griffins opened up the game on a 9-2 run Miller had four of the first nine points on the scoreboard to start the game off and even got their largest lead of the game at nine in the first eight minutes of play. 

The top-ranked Orediggers made a run and found a way to take their first lead of the game at 26-25 with six minutes remaining in the first half. The two teams would then go back and forth sharing the lead until the final minutes of the half when Colorado School of Mines took the six-point lead into the halftime break. 

Another strong start to the half by Westminster saw the lead shrink to four points in favor of the road team, but that would be as close as the Griffins would get as they ended the second half with 39 points. Jeremy Dowdell had 15 points; Drake Middleton added 12 as the Griffins ended the night with three players in double-figures. 

Despite making more threes on the night (9-6) it was the Free Throws that were the difference on the night as the Orediggers went 19-21 from the line to help capture a conference win.

The Westminster Griffins will now hit the road to Denver Colorado, for a game with Regis University on Friday, Dec. 9 with a tip scheduled for 7:00 PM, and the game will be broadcast on the RMAC Network.
