ALAMOSA, Colo.—The Westminster women's lacrosse team notched a road win over the Adams State Grizzlies. The Griffins scored 20 or more goals in a second straight win, bringing their goal tally to 41 for the weekend.
 
Westminster seized control from the beginning with a goal in the opening two minutes and seven in the opening nine. They led by fifteen at the half and scored five in the second half to finish the day. The team recorded 16 assists, 26 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers and were 13-13 on clearances.
 
Lauren Shoughro led the team with a career-high eight points from two goals and six assists. She shared the lead in ground balls (4) with Grace Carico and Maddie Kelleher and shared the lead in caused turnovers (3) with Nicole Fraser and Courtney McCabe.
 
Phebe Walker, Melissa Reeves and Carico each scored a hat trick with career-high tallies. Walker led the Griffins goal scorers with five. Reeves and Carico both had three. M Kelleher and Fraser both recorded three assists and Hannah Kelleher had two assists, rounding out the Griffins with multiple assists.
 
Hannah Bargeron made one save to earn her first career shutout. The defense did not allow Bargeron much to do, holding the Grizzlies to two shots, but Bargeron was ready when called upon in keeping the clean sheet.
 
 The Griffins are back at home on Friday, Apr. 9, at 6 pm against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. The game will be streamed on the RMAC Network through Stretch Internet and on Griffin TV through YouTube. Spectator and fan attendance is limited to the team pass lists and members of the Westminster Community—students, faculty, staff and alumni.
