Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Westminster women's basketball team are headed to the NCAA Division II West Regional Finals on Monday.
Hunter Krebs led the Griffins with 21 points to defeat Western Colorado, 68-52.
Westminster's offense was too much for the Mountaineers. The Griffins recorded 16 assists and shot 44.4% from the field, made 10-22 from three and 10-12 from the free throw line. They held Western Colorado to just 28.8% shooting and 5-16 from beyond the arc. Westminster out rebounded Western 41-33 and blocked five shots.
An avalanche of threes in the first half helped the Griffins to a 19-point halftime lead. The Griffins scored 15 of their opening 20 points from three, shooting 5-6 in the first quarter.
Mariah Martin scored a pair of threes in the second quarter to finish the half 7-10.
The Griffins continued their control of the game through the second half, never letting the Mountaineers closer than 15 points.

Shelley Jarrard said. "The team was focused and read to play tonight."
"Western had a great season and have had a lot to overcome with key injuries. Huge respect for their program."
"Team played all weekend, but Hunter in particular played very poised in the wins."
Krebs missed a good portion of the first half due to foul trouble but made her impact in the second half. Krebs led all players with 21 points and shot 80% from the field, making 4-5 from three and 1-1 from the charity stripe. Krebs also led the team with three blocks and grabbed six rebounds.
Sarah McGinley led the team in rebounding and was only one rebound shy of a double-double. McGinley scored 13 points shooting 50% from the field. Martín and
Abby Mangum led the team with four assists each.
The Griffins play Azusa Pacific on Monday, Mar. 15, at 6 pm in the West Regional Final.
