GOLDEN, Colo.—A tough night from three and the free throw line saw the Westminster men's basketball team fall to #1 Colorado School of Mines.
 
The Griffins matched the Orediggers shooting 40.4% from the field making 19-47. The Griffins went 1-9 from three and 11-19 from the free throw line to the Orediggers 7-25 from three and 18-21 from free throws.
 
A rocky start to the game saw just five points, three for Mines and two for Westminster, in the opening five minutes. The Orediggers took a 10-point lead with four minutes left in the half. 
Reme Torbert scored seven points to lead the Griffins on a 13-3 run to finish the half tied, 26-26.
 
Westminster led twice in the early minutes of the half. The Griffins stayed close, within two baskets, until the Orediggers went on a 13-6 run to finish the game.
 
Joey Andrews and 
Taylor Miller led the team with 11 and 10 points respectively. 
Reme Torbert and 
Brayden Johnson both scored nine points.
 
Johnson led the team with seven rebounds and Andrews grabbed six.
 
The Griffins finish the weekend at Regis. They will finish the conference season at home against Fort Lewis (Feb. 26) and Western Colorado (Feb. 27).
