BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Masen Ward (T17) and
Alec Williams (T19) each finished top-20 and Westminster men's golf had its best score of the tournament in Tuesday's third round to finish 14th as a team (+19) at The Tulsa Cup hosted by Rogers State Univ.
Tournament hosts Rogers State won the team title playing on its home course with a final team score of 17-under-par. JJ Zimmer of Union University (Tenn.) won the individual title with a 72-66-68 week to finish 10-under-par.
Williams had five birdies in the first two rounds, avoiding any holes over +1 to finish with the best second-round score (70) for Westminster. He then followed up with a final round score of 72 to finish in a tie for 19th.
Ward had four-birdie performance in the second round, which was resumed on Tuesday morning following a weather delay that forced a play stoppage on day one. He then finished off the week with a final-round 70, bouncing back immediately from an early bogey with his first of four more birdies, finishing in a tie for 17th on the overall leaderboard.
Zach Dallimore (+6) played a clean final round on Tuesday with only two bogeys and a pair of birdies to card a third-round 72 and 48th overall finish.
Max Lunt went 74-78-78 to finish in a tie for 76th and
Isaac Headrick finished his week at +25.
Westminster will now see a three-month pause in its compeition schedule and will return to action at the Cal State San Marcos Invite on Feb. 13-15.
