KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The men's lacrosse team nearly came back to defeat University of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon after falling behind by six points in the first period.
The Griffins outscored the Greyhounds 10-3 in the second and third periods to tie the game at 11 points.
Quinn Lewis and
Jacob Taylor scored to give the Griffins the lead with 4:43 remaining. UIndy denied the Griffins' comeback by scoring a pair of goals two minutes later.
Nick Marcy took eight shots with seven on goal and led the team with a hat-trick.
Chance Beutler and
Jake Auger both scored a brace and had an assist and
Gabe Mein scored a two.
Goalie
Sean Edwards faced 42 shots and made 11 saves.
The Griffins travel to Charlotte, N.C., to play Lenoir-Rhyne University on Friday and Wingate, N.C., to play Wingate University on Sunday.
