SALT LAKE CITY—Westminster's men's lacrosse team completed a sweep of the weekend with a win over Adams State Grizzlies.
Twelve scored for the Griffins with five scoring multiple goals and two completing hat tricks.
Blake Gross led the assault with eight points, four goals and assists.
Gabe Mein led all goal scorers with five goals and added an assist to his total.
Chris Castiglia won a season high 19 faceoffs and picked up 11 ground balls.
The Griffins shut the Grizzlies out in the first period and scored nine straight with six assisted. The Grizzlies took the game's opening-shot, but goalie
Sean Edwards saved to shut the Grizzlies out.
Adams State finally broke through with a pair of goals in the second period after going down by 10. Westminster scored five in a row to finish the half leading, 15-4.
The Griffins scored five more in the third and two in the fourth for the 22-9 win.
Westminster has next weekend off before they head on the road to face Lynn University (Mar. 9), Florida Tech (Mar. 12) and Palm Beach Atlantic (Mar. 14).
