St. George—Westminster falls to Dixie State in its RMAC conference opener, 68-56.
The Griffins entered tonight's game shooting .487 from the field and .403 from three. An off-night saw the Griffins make 19-55 (.345) from the field and 9-29 (.310) from beyond the arc. They made 16-20 (.800) from the charity stripe, well above their average of .685.
The score was tied twice, and the lead changed three times as both teams battled for control in the first 10 minutes. Dixie made three threes and went on a 15-5 run for a lead that the Griffins were unable to comeback from.
Brandon Warr and
Jake Connor scored double-digits for the Griffins. Warr scored a game high 22 points making four threes and going 2-2 from the charity stripe. He was one rebound short of his fifth double-double. Connor made 4-6 from beyond the arc for 12 points.
The Griffins host Black Hills State on Friday, Dec. 3, and South Dakota School of mines on Saturday, Dec. 4.
