Tonight's game against the Saints saw six lead changes and seven ties. Westminster finished 28-62 from the field, 13-27 from three and 11-18 from the charity stripe.
Westminster took held its largest lead of 12 points halfway through the first half. The Saints stole the lead for a few minutes, but Westminster regained it with three minutes left in the half and finished with a nine-point lead, 42-33.
The Griffins led for most of the second half but couldn't shake free of the Saints who tied the game six times in the second, including three times in the final two minutes.
With three seconds left on the clock and the score tied 77-77, Head Coach
Norm Parrish called a timeout. Ely drained a three out of the timeout and the Griffins finished with the lead, 80-77.
Four scored in double digits.
Jake Connor scored a game-high seven three pointers for a team high 22 points.
Brandon Warr put up 17, Ely scored 16 and
Joonas Tahvanainen scored 13
Warr pulled down 10 rebounds and recorded his second double-double of the season.
Alec Monson pulled down nine rebounds.
Westminster plays again tomorrow night against University of Providence.
