ST. GEORGE—For the fourth game in a row, Westminster had four players put up double-digit points as they defeated University of Providence, 73-70, and improved to 4-0 on the season.

Brandon Warr scored a team high 21 points and recorded his third double-double with 13 rebounds. Jai Jai Ely went 4-5 from the field, 2-3 from three and 6-8 from the free throw line for 16 points.  Alec Monson scored 13 and grabbed eight rebounds and Brandon Willardson finished with 10.

Westmisnter led by 11 with a little under five minutes left in the first half. Things went went a little cold as Providence finished the half on a 14-3 run tying the game, 32-32.

The Griffins led the entire second half after Alec Monson's layup to start the half gave them the lead. Providence put up a tough fight coming within one point, 70-71, with 56 seconds remaining.

Warr's jumper missed the mark but Monson collected the offensive rebound letting Westminster take more time off the clock. Providence had a chance after a turnover but Jake Connor stole the ball and was fouled before they could get the shot off.

Connor hit both free throws to finish the game.

"A tough game but we are happy with the win," Head Coach Norm Parrish said. "Hopefully we can continue to lean and get better for the next game."
